Just one more ‘cat’ – a shy snow leopard. It had a lot more privacy than the tigers and had us running back and forth between the window panels at either end of it’s living quarters, trying to catch a glimpse of it.

That’s how close we were to the cats! My daughter looks calm in the photo but I can assure you she was not. She squealed loudly every time the tiger prowled passed her.

One of the things I loved about the Dublin Zoo was how close you can get to some of the bigger cats. There were large windows areas that brought nose to nose with the tigers – a unique experience.
