On the way to The Golden Gate vista point on the Marin side…
A last glance at Muir Beach for this time. Stinson Beach coming up 🙂
Caravans of ice boxes are more common among guests at Muir Beach than swim toys.
Surfing isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…
No way I would even consider taking off my sweatshirt but kids can be surprisingly hardy when it comes to making the most of water and sand. Note that the surfers in the background are wearing wet suits.
Typical weather at Muir Beach…
At home, going to the beach means the weather will be the same as at our house, and if it’s nice and warm there’ll be plenty of playing in the sand and shallow water.
In Marin you never know what you are going to find once you get to Muir Beach. Chances are it’ll be windy, cloudy, misty at times and the sound of the waves will be accompanied by the clatter of the children’s teeth as they run around in their bathing suits.
While most people have at least seen pictures of the amazing San Francisco, let me share with you now some images from Marin – the county just north of the Golden Gate and our favorite place to stay.
Part II of “the car’s only ten blocks away…”
Best tourist advice for SF: get fit well ahead of time, bring hiking boots, keep your camera ready.
You’ve gotta love this town… “Here are we and here’s the car. That’s only ten blocks. We can easily walk that…”
