As I’m listing the photos chronologically here comes a glimpes of Halvandet on a sunny day. I caught my daughter while she busy getting to her next hide-and-seek spot.

Last picture in the Halvandet-series – and, of course, my favorite.
Just today I was standing at Amager Beach with a friend, pointing in the direction of tall chimneys and obvious signs of industry, telling her that this was where Halvandet was at. I don’t know how you would ever find this urban beach bar by coinsidence. You do pass it if you take a canal tour, but finding your way there in a car…?

A few rays of sun broke through the looming rain clouds.
Behind the cruise ship in the background is Langelinie, home of The Little Mermaid – and she really is small. Or dainty. From Halvandet you can also see The Marble Church, catch a glimpse of Amalienborg and sometimes of the royal yacht.

I’m a sucker for patterns – repetitions, graphic lines, you name it… This is another of the shots from Halvandet I decided to keep. Again, this wouldn’t be half as intriguing to me if the sun had been shining and the deck chairs had been full of people. Opporsites calls to the imagination.

Halvandet is located on Amager, the island I live on. But you have to know it’s there… Way out at the farthest end of a run down industrial area.

When I visited Halvandet a day in August the rain was pouring down as I drove there and I had to wait in the car for the rain to stop. The wind was fierce and this being an outdoor bar there were no customers there. A couple of days later, when the weather had cleared and the place was filled with people lounging in the sun, I returned – but the pictures I took on the windy and cloudy day were so much more interesting.
