We didn’t make inside St. Peter’s Basilica during this visit. The lines were much too long. We did make inside the Vatican Museum on their once a months free entry day. This photo is from the garden where we collapsed after moving through the museum without room to even scratch your nose.
These tress were probably not on the Palatine Hill when Emperor Augustus and Livia lived there, removed from the stifling heat of the forum itself. But surely there were some like them at that time.
