I love my camera. It’s my first DSLR. Look at light in this shot. I didn’t help it in any way, not even a flash.

As we all know it’s surposed to rain in Ireland. In preparation I had spent quite a bit of time (and no money) securing my camera against that possibility. But as we walked through the rain in Galway on the way back to the hotel I just couldn’t resist the sight of the umbrellas. At mortal peril to my camera I got it from my bag, unwrapped it and managed to keep it under my own umbrella while shooting. Who cares if I got wet. The camera survived and I got the pictures 🙂

This phone hung on the wall by the bar in The Spanish Arch in Galway. I don’t know if it still works. In any case I dragged my kids out of their seats to show them what a telephone looked like when I was a kid. And they didn’t even appricaite it!

Back in Ireland again, the pub The Spanish Arch in Galway, with one of my favorites. I love the repetative pattern, the light and the muted colors. Quite before the storm of customers.

This is my New Year’s greeting to everyone, old friends, new friends, and the ones I haven’t met yet. Light a candle and shine bright where ever you are. Respect others for their journey and be your own light. In darkness even one candle makes a difference. Namaste.

Shaftbury Avenue – and just a tip, if you get to London during Christmas make sure you also photograph at Covent Garden. I only had time for a crowded, hurried walk-through with kids, but the place looked spectacular.
