On a completely random Sunday in August I happened to be at Amager Beach to see this line-up. Can you imagine my joy that I had brought my camera?

It’s a good thing I took enough images I consider worth while showing this summer. Because it’s blowing like crazy outside these days, freezing and there’s is no light. As far as I can recall I saw the sun through the clouds briefly four days ago. In thory a photographer can always find something to photograph but I’m finding it real hard this days…
At least I can recall summer, rhubarb icecream and vacation by working with images from a warmer season.

Don’t think I’m done with images from The Bay Area 🙂 But before I continue I want to take you on a trip in time and destination to look at cars.
My first model hangs out at Amager Beach by my favorite ice cream place. Not quite the drop dead looks you’ll see later but lots of personality.

I was fortunate to be given a tour of the part of the Kastrup Værk, Bryggergården, they were attempting to rent out. The craftmanship of what was not covered was amazing. The thickness of the lumber, the structure of the stone walls with the windows imbedded a foot deep… Unfortunately all I had a chance to photograph were two fast shots in an elevator so old you opened the door by pulling a rope.
This is the first of them.

Bryggergården is a whole complex of buildings. At first only bricks were produced here, then also beer. Now only the bar turned café is left plus several apartments. The place was completely renovated in 2008 and they have begun to offer parts of it for reasonable rent to creative projects. I hope they succeed.

This preserved complex, originally from 1749, lies at the end of Amager Beach past the marina and the new aquarium, The Blue Planet. Since 1838 it has housed a bar, now a café. And it’s just a stone’s throw from Copenhagen Airport.
