I guess these people could be looking at anything but they are facing the river – a calm moment in a busy downtown.

I do love a good contrast.

The big surprise comes when you look down instead of looking up when walking this busy area of downtown Chicago.

Up at street level, you are surrounded by tall, impersonal buildings.

This is one of the few touristy places I photographed when I was staying in Chicago. The Riverwalk is such a surprising and amazing urban space.
