There are a couple of reasons why I don’t show recognizable people in my images. First of all, they are much harder to control than inanimate objects 🙂 And secondly, there are any number of rules for how I can use the images if there are people in them, depending on the country the images are published in. So I should either get a signed statement from each person in any image that it is okay to use it or leave them out.

Until last week I had barely done any photography at all in 4 years. Starting up again was a conscious decision rather than something spontaneous. But sometimes just doing it works.

People who decorated these spaces will often find the details overlooked by the many people coming and going. I try to focus on the details because that is what I see.

Many districts in Chicago are littered with cafés that all have a very personal expression. It is going to be hard to choose.
