I wonder what I’m going to do in the spring. I find wilted leaves and muted colors so inspiring.
A rose is a rose is a rose
I just uploaded my latest serie to my portfolio. See the rest of the shots here.
What is reality? A rose in a child’s thermos on the pavement on a busy street – reality, though perhaps not expected. But slowly the image and the surroundings dissolves. Nothing here has been tampered with. These are the actual images shot at the spot. But the bicyclist becomes transparent, the cars disappears, even the buildings disappears, and in the end only the rose is left. Does that mean the buildings and traffic doesn’t exist because they don’t register on the camera? Did they ever exist? And what questions might this lead to about the information that is given to us on a daily basis when non-photoshopped pictures can give such different versions of ‘The Truth’?

The King’s Garden (Kongens Have) lies in the middle of Copenhagen. It’s a lovely park much used by the locals and houses a ‘fairytale castle’ from the 17’th century. I entered the gate one slightly chilly afternoon in November in search of more fall pictures.

One last detail from the mall this time around. There are two malls close to where I live. I guess I’m lucky there are two. I wouldn’t get this kind of image at the other one.

The mall is called Fields – kind of strange with an English name in Denmark. It opened nine years ago. They tried to pay attention to detail and in general I would say it’s a succes.

I have no idea what these cardboard sky scrapers were doing at the mall, but they were a great photo opportunity.

After I was done shooting garden gnoms (I love that sentence…) I walked around the almost empty mall with my camera. I found enough to photograph to remind me to come back another day before the shops open.
