If you walk on from the pier of the Royal Danish yacht you pass the Norwegian church and come to Kastellet, the resently renovated part of Copenhagen’s old defense. In the old days people would promanade on the battlement in their Sunday clothes. You can almost see it…

One fine day in the fall I visited the district of Copenhagen called Østerbro. I went to photograph a fountain that turned out not to be turned on, but other motives begged to join the others here on the blog.
I am close to the Amalienborg where the queen lives, and the two houses in the background are there for her pleasure as she awaits to board the royal yacht, Dannebro.

This shot is from the Lucia celebration at my children’s school. On the 13’th they walk around with candles singing songs to the Italian saint Santa Lucia. For some reason she is very popular as part of the Christmas celebration on Scandinavia. Perhaps because she is associated with light at the darkest time of the year.
