Sunset

Sunset, you’ve gotta have a sunset! My 11 year old son was shaking his head as I rambled in the car on the way back about not having my camera with me. Fortunately home and my camera bag was not far away and the house is three stories high. He was still shaking his head when I came back down with a happy smile.

Ørestad Syd

This sculpture stands to the building next to the 8 House in Ørestad. Driving towards it you see tall, modern buildings, but park the car and approach it from the other direction and it stands alone against the backdrop of the residential neightbourhood.

The rain began a few minutes after this shot and I ran in the cold wind back to the car with the camera covered by my jacket, being terrified that it would get wet. I’m still very careful about my camera 🙂

Stairs

I wish I could claim skill here, but the fact is I got lucky. Leaving Sankt Nikolaj Church behind I went to the art supply store on Strøget. It is on the second floor and as I walked back down I wondered what the stair looked like if I looked up. Oh my!

The combination of natural and artificial light just happened. I framed the shot, tweaked the buttons a bit to get more light than with auto focus and there you are…

Sankt Nikolaj Church 1, 2012

Saint Nikolaj Church lies in the very center of Copenhagen but just like another of the most central churches, Helligåndskirken, is no longer functions as one. Today it serves as an exhibition hall. It also houses a café with outdoor serving on a quiet, leafy square just of Strøget, the main shopping street.

I brought my camera with me on a day in the early fall when I was shopping for art supplies and had fun with the towers.
