This photoblog is my sandbox. Committing myself to post daily gives me a reason to play with a variety of photographic expressions and from this often comes inspiration to more art-related series. One last detail from the mall this time around. There are two malls close to where I live. I guess I’m lucky there are two. I wouldn’t get this kind of image at the other one.
One final look at Kastellet for this time. This vista reminds me so of old French copper prints.
On the day I visited Kastellet, the old battlements of Copenhagen, they celbrated it’s 348’th birthday by dressing up.
If you walk on from the pier of the Royal Danish yacht you pass the Norwegian church and come to Kastellet, the resently renovated part of Copenhagen’s old defense. In the old days people would promanade on the battlement in their Sunday clothes. You can almost see it…
And here are the pavillions where the royal Danish family waits before boarding their yacht. Denmark is mostly islands so it’s easy to sail to places.
The elaborate lamp posts are the reward for anyone looking up while cruising the area of the royal family’s yacht.
One fine day in the fall I visited the district of Copenhagen called Østerbro. I went to photograph a fountain that turned out not to be turned on, but other motives begged to join the others here on the blog.
I am close to the Amalienborg where the queen lives, and the two houses in the background are there for her pleasure as she awaits to board the royal yacht, Dannebro.
Wrapping up the fall pictures from Christianshavn, I decided to do all of them in black and white. Pick your favorite, color or not…
Camera in hand and the sun hidden behind clouds I revisited the places on Christianshavn I had shot in August.
