Fireworks can appear so overwhelming when it all goes off at once at midnight on New Year’s Eve, making it almost as bright as daylight. Sometimes it easier to see the beauty in fragments.

Continuing my series of impressionistic firework images. Some relate to the surroundings, others track the movement of the sparks.
Equipment used was Nikon D610 with a 50mm 1.8 prime, handheld with manual focus.

Fireworks on New Year’s Eve is very important to the Danes. Almost everyone buy their own and light it. Frankly I don’t quite see what the fuzz is about but my kids do!

Okay, so one of the reasons why I chose an impressionistic account of my New Year’s Eve is that it was a very quiet affair. No party shots available here – just as I like it. And it presented me with the much interesting challange of comunicating the mood of the evening. I guess we did have a party 🙂
