It was early spring when we visited the café and now it’s early fall. But looking at the close-up of the hyacinth I can almost smell them again. I know, the image is not tack sharp but just take in the colour and the scent 🙂

I know artificial light can do wonders for images. I see many examples. But it just doesn’t interest me in the least. I don’t even have a flash other than what’s built into the camera – and I always forget to use it even though I know I can turn down the volume. I guess it’s just more interesting to me to work with what is there. Perhaps when I have learned enough by studying natural light I will feel like adding some.

We were in a separate part of the café so there was room to play – still using 50 mm prime on a DX with natural light.

The name of the café translates to The Pearl of The Coast. I can agree with that now though not very many years ago it was a smokey bar.

On a day in March my husband, daughter and I went for coffee at Kystens Perle (the son stayed at home by his computer :-)). The café is situated in a building from 1749 within sight of the Copenhagen Airport and a five minute walk from the new aquarium, The Blue Planet.
I brought my camera along to practice with my still new 50 mm. prime lense (a lense where you can’t zoom). All images in this series were shot with this 50 mm. 1.8G lens, natural light only.
