Amager 15, The Blue Planet, 2013

The Blue Planet, Den Blå Planet, is only a few miles from my home. The project was given the lot for free on the condition that all school classes in the district can enter for free (and skip the lines too, my daughter found out) and everyone living in the district can buy yearly passes at half price. Nice!

This is the first image on my blog of our new aquarium – The Blue Planet. I have taken many already… Perhaps you can see why looking at this example 🙂 On this day it was bitterly cold with ice beginning to form on the small pond surrounding the entrence. I think the cold winter look suits the metallic surface of the building better than warm summer days.

From “Signs of spring“:

The transition from darkness to light is marked by signs deeply ingrained in the natives. Every child knows the sequence of the flowers – eranthis, snowdrop, crocus – these milestones in measuring the progress. Every adult will stop and sniff the air through layers of winter clothes on the day of the undefinable turning point. And we all notice how the sun will finally both warm us to our chilled bones and mercilessly reveal the dirty windows and the dust piled up through the dark months.

Spring is a time of anticipation with summer still far enough in the future to promise to fulfil every dream we ever had.
