The Blue Planet is designed to look like a vortex from above. I don’t know. I’m just fascinated with the organic shape. But it was soooo cold shooting at well below zero with a steady breeze coming in from the ocean.
Sometimes you see the shot you want in your head, go there, and get it done in first try. Love that feeling 🙂 As much as I love playing around and discovering an angle I hadn’t thought of.
I created a work earlier this year about signs of spring. Today and the next couple of days I’ll show examples from this – not identical pictures but close. You can see the full series on my portfolio.
This is the entrance to Kastrupgård seen from inside the yard. When you step onto the ancient cobbled stones it seems surreal to look at the supermarket just across the street.
The self portrait from yesterday was shot here in the sharp winter sun. This is Kastrupgård. It is an art museum very close to where I live. It was originally a country retreat, back in the 18’th Century when 4 kilometers outside the city walls was out in the country.
I’m a sucker for reflections. This was taken in December at my local café, Ingolfs Kaffebar on Amager. Cafés in Denmark are “hyggelige” – a Danish word without a proper translation, indicating something really nice, making you feel comfortable.
This photoblog is my sandbox. Committing myself to post daily gives me a reason to play with a variety of photographic expressions and from this often comes inspiration to more art-related series. The mall is called Fields – kind of strange with an English name in Denmark. It opened nine years ago. They tried to pay attention to detail and in general I would say it’s a succes.
After I was done shooting garden gnoms (I love that sentence…) I walked around the almost empty mall with my camera. I found enough to photograph to remind me to come back another day before the shops open.
My cell phone rang. “What are you doing?” “Shooting garden gnomes at the mall.” “What?”
I needed photos of garden gnomes for one of my canvas work. Not this one, but I thought it was pretty fun.
