Not only had this old truck, parked right on 4’th Street in San Rafael, a real log for a bumper. It also sported an amazing, bright green/brass suitcase. No staging here! I shot the truck just as I found it but I couldn’t have done it better myself.

As we sat on the lawn with all the American families, listening to Weird Al, dusk fell, the Paris wheel lit up and all was well in the world…
One of my fondest memories from the fair was asking directions from two police officers. We were getting a bit tired from walking back and forth through the fair ground in the heat and wanted to make sure we were heading the right way to hear Weird Al Yankovic.
I remember Weird Al from my year at college in the early 80’ies with classic spoofs like ‘Girls just wanna have lunch, ‘Like a surgeon’ and ‘Fat’. A later favorite is ‘Armish paradise’. For some reason my son had taken a liking to him even without knowing the original versions of the songs. And here was a chance to see him live!
We got talking to the officers and what amazed them above anything else was that a family from Denmark would know about Weird Al. We all parted on a very happy note.
Sometimes I realize that the creativity of nature surpasses anything we humans can think up.
I probably would not have noticed this lovely and unusual flower if the owner of the house hadn’t pointed it out to me.

The view from the pool – of course there would be a pool 🙂 Though, before you rush out and buy a splendid house like this you might want to know that the owners spent over $100.000 repairing damages after a landslide on their lot a couple of yours ago. So we’ll just rent, right?
Did I mention that a house has this view? I don’t know if I’d ever be able to leave this bench if I lived there. The Bay Area at your service…
