I know we found this idyllic place in a brochure about the area around Mount Hood. Maybe one day I’ll make it up to the top floor of the house, find the brochure and look it up 🙂

Strictly speaking I don’t know if this series should be called ‘Mount Hood’. It’s just that I can’t remember where we stopped along the way to look at this forest/stream/waterfall.
Galway 4, Ireland 2012
Galway is very much a part of the surrounding water. You can’t go far without meeting the water of the sheltered bay or rivers running down to meet it. We’re close to the end of the once known world here, and at times that feeling is tangible.
Sidetracked
I’m sorry about my resent instability. My goal is to post one picture a day – and do it every day. This time my excuse is related to photos. I’ve spent all day yesterday working on my latest website, and I’m pretty darn proud that I shot all the pictures that I use for the design.
I decided to go with the theme of water. I also locked myself into using a black/white/red color scheme. Finally the water had to surround the island, I live on.
The pictures don’t look their best yet. I used the ‘kindergarten’ tools – color conversion on my Nikon and fine tuning with Picasa. In time they’ll get top notch Photoshop treatment. I love water – especially on photos where you can freeze it. It’s fluid, it’s solid, it moves continously, it can’t be moved…

I usually post ‘clean’ pictures here. In this case, though, I played with my camera’s feature of fixing one color and rendering the rest black/white.
This shot is from a part of Copenhagen called Christianshavn. It is very old land fill and is littered with canals. A little further on there’ll be a whole series from Christinashavn.
